The North Sea Trail Association, now on the move

Friends of North Sea Trail
During 2007 the NAVE Nortrail project was finalized and the North Sea Trail Association founded to sustain the North Sea Trail and provide the partners with a forum to do so.
The constitution of the North Sea Trail Association was in place after two founding meetings – March 16th in Peterhead and June 22nd in Brunstad. The Steering Committee was elected with a representative from each of the 7 participating countries.
No Steering Committee meetings were held in 2007 and chair Nils-Arvid Andersson, Sweden left the committee. Luckily the Nortrail project kept going all of 2007 with the final reporting and the Mini Call project and has paid for the pure maintenance of the NST website and the Intranet during 2007 and 2008 as well.
Now the North Sea Trail Association is on the move. The Steering Committee held its first meeting on February 6th and the minutes are attached together with the minutes from the second founding meeting in Brunstad. Important information from the Steering Group Meeting is in brief:
Partner Signup and Membership Fee
A formal letter will be sent to all Nortrail partners (just after Easter) to sign for joining the North Sea Trail Association and at the same time pay the membership fee of 300 Euros for 2008 and with a deadline on May 1st.
Temporary Chair of the NSTA
Jell Renney, England, was appointed temporary chair of the North Sea Trail Association until the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting 2008 will be held on June 11th at Herning, Denmark in conjunction with the North Sea Commissions General Assembly and the joint Interreg North Sea and Baltic Sea Conference. The meeting place and exact time will be reported later.
North Sea Trail Day
The North Sea Trail Day will take place as usual on the first weekend in September, which is September 6th and 7th. No special theme has been chosen, but all partners are invited to initiate and promote activities and events in connection with the trail on this weekend. An event calendar will be posted on the Intranet and if possible also on the NST website.
The Steering Committee will meet again in the beginning of April to prepare the coming Annual General Meeting and look into how the website can be updated among other things.
