Final transnational meeting Peterhead, Aberdeenshire
Aberdeenshire Council, as Lead Partner of the NAVE Nortrail Interreg IIIB North Sea project, takes the pleasure to invite local government and NGO's located around the North Sea to take part in the founding meeting of the Friends of the North Sea Trail Friday on 16th March.

This is an invitation to form a new organisation to be called the Friends of the North Sea Trail. The launch of this new “supporters” society will take place on Friday 16 March at 08.30 at Peterhead,
Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The objective of the Friends will be to maintain the work and goodwill achieved by the NAVE Nortrail project over the past four years
Each of the 26 Nortrail partner have been asked to join as a Friend. In addition we welcome all other local goverment bodies and NGO's around the North Sea to take part in the fouding meeting and be present at the final transnational meeting of the NAVE Nortrail project.
The agenda of the meeting will be

Registration of participating organisations

Election of chair and secretary of the meeting and 2 persons to sign the minutes

Approve the Friend’s constitution

Decide on membership fees
-
Election of steering group (chair, secretary, members)

Determine venue and time for next Annual Meeting
A draft constitution for the Friends has been prepared and is attached Any observations on this Draft Constitution should be sent by e-mail to Allan Garvie before the 5th March

A specific early role of the Friends will be to keep the achievements of the project in the public`s mind. The promotion of North Sea Trail Day 2007 to other organisations eg; Tourist Boards, will be an example of this role. The Friends will also be able to make use of the DVD/Video produced as PR material by the NAVE Nortrail project.
Please note that in order to launch the Friends at Peterhead, each current Partner is asked to pay a fee of 300 Euros – a figure agreed by the NAVE Nortrail Steering Group subject to the agreement at the first AGM of the Friends.
If you are not a NAVE Nortrail partner and want to attend the founding meeting, please notify Allan Garvie as soon as possible and no later than 5th March

There are still some available rooms at Waterfront Inn hotel where the meeting will take place
Partners attending the meeting should consider nominations of members of the Friends Steering Group before the founding meeting takes place. The chairs of the Nave Nortrail consortia should assess potential candidates for the Friends Steering Group with their partners.
