North Sea Trail Day 0609009 in Ostfold - a success

A new bridge connecting the North Sea Trail between Halden and Sarpsborg was opened on the North Sea Trail Day Sunday 6th September.

The Mayor of Sarspborg Jan Engsmyr and the Vice mayor of Halden Wenche Olsen jointly opened the new bridge by cutting the ribbon. More than 100 persons watched the opening ceremony before they all took off on a 5 km walk southbound along the trail to Sponviken. Half way they passed one of the bigger bronze age graves in Østfold on the top of the Røsnes åsen. The group was guided by Jørn Bøhmer Olsen a well known wild life photographer who showed us many fine examples of plants and flowers to be found along the route.
